DYLAN THOMAS WRITING WORKSHOPS ON TOUR

Special offer: 3 for the price of 2

Developing Dylan workshops are Dylan Thomas-themed one hour creative writing workshops for Key Stages 2, 3 and 4. They are available to organisations in Wales (such as schools, libraries, clubs, societies, community centres, arts festivals, youth groups) in Welsh and English until March 2015.

‘It was EPIC. When we did the workshop I learnt that when you write poems you should be your self, and don’t stress. Just jumble some words up and then BOOM, you have found your poem’ – pupil from Barry.

‘This workshop provided that vital springboard into creative thinking so crucial in enthusing our students’ – teacher from Wrexham.

The workshops are led by some of Wales’ best writers, the team includes – Dan Anthony, author of Rugby Zombies and Tracey Beaker script writer, Jemma L King, Dylan Thomas Prize short list nominee, and Cynan Jones, 2013 Sunday Times EFG Private Bank Short Story Award short list nominee. The workshops reflect current curriculum requirements in Wales, including those of the National Literacy and Numeracy Framework. Each workshop is specifically tailored to the relevant Key Stage, ensuring proper provision for differentiated learning and allowing children and young people the freedom to explore. The Key Stage 4 / post-14 workshop is specifically linked to GCSE Welsh / English Literature course requirements for creative writing. A teaching pack containing interactive resources is given to each school following the workshop.

The fixed fee is £130 per workshop, payable to the writer on the day of the workshop. After the workshop you can claim back 30% by sending the event report form.
